This Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT Limited Edition watch was years in the making, but its breathtaking design and impeccable accuracy was worth the wait. In 1977, a young Seiko engineer known as Yoshikazu Akahane had the dream to create a watch with a one-second-a-day accuracy, something that only the finest electronic watches could deliver. It took him 27 years and over 600 prototypes, but eventually the Grand Seiko Spring Drive watch collection was born, and its success was guaranteed. This particular Grand Seiko Limited Edition watch boasts the 9R66 Spring Drive movement which is the first 9R Spring Drive movement to be equipped with GMT function. The aspiration for a one-second-a-day accuracy continues to be upheld in this stunning Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT watch which also showcases a 44mm stainless steel case, dual curved sapphire crystal glass and a breathtaking mahogany dial decorated with multi-faceted hands and hour makers. The dial is also detailed with a special 72-hour power reserve display at 7 o clock alongside the famous Grand Seiko logo at 12 o clock. Finally, just like the 200-metre water resistant case, the classic titanium bracelet is given a mirror-finish achieved through the brand’s celebrated Zaratsu polishing.
