Curtiss Warhawk was a renowned American aircraft manufacturer who became the largest supplier of aircrafts in the United States during World War II by supplying planes in large numbers to the U.S Armed Forces. Their most famous plane was the bold-looking P-40 Warhawk, the very plane that has inspired this Breitling Aviator 8 watch. Measuring to 43mm in size, the case of this Breitling Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch is crafted from polished stainless steel and fitted with a ratcheted bidirectional bezel. Accents of red can be found on the red bezel marker at 12 o clock as well as on the tip of the chronograph seconds hand to reflect the same paint used on the nose of the P-40 Warhawk plane. The military green dial also tributes the main colour of the aircraft while also providing the perfect backdrop to bold Arabic numerals and propeller shaped hour and minute hands coated in Superluminova. The automatic calibre is also kept hidden behind a closed case back which has been beautifully engraved with an image of the famous P-40 plane and its distinctive shark mouth logo.
