Working alongisde the Carl Brashear Foundation for a second time, the brand are remembering the extraoridinary life of Carl Brashear, the U.S Navy’s first African American master diver. He had both a traumatic and fascinating life, one filled with severe hostility, racism and a prosthetic leg and yet, throughout it all it was his passion and determination for diving that allowed himOris to return to full active duty as a diver in the U.S Navy and recieve full recognition for his incredible acheivements. With this Oris Carl Brashear Chronograph Limited Edition 2018 watch, they have now added stunning chrongraph function on the sea blue dial along with the hour, minutes and seconds function. The 43mm bronze case is truly unique and it is only the second time Oris have used this material on a watch design, the first being the original Carl Brashear watch. The beauty of the bronze case, bezel and crown is that it will age and change colour over time. When exposed to moisture in the air and pH levels in perspiration, the bronze will develop a natural patina. This means there will be 2,000 limited edition pieces each with its own unique colour changing case bespoke to its wearer.
